Sunday, September 17, was a special day in our community, as we responded to God’s call to “live as faithful disciples to worship together and reach out in ministry and mission.” Nearly 100 people from North and University Presbyterian churches served at eight sites doing a variety of tasks from filling coffee mugs with candy, gardening, painting, rebuilding, mending banners, making cards, and visiting with veterans. It was a multi-generational event, involving people from elementary-age children to adults in their ’90s.
As you continue to reflect on what Service Sunday means to you, we encourage you to share your ideas for a future event (changing or continuing) with members of the planning committee: Mary Beth Karr, Brian Pettit, Karen Roesser, Marietta Bratton, Sue D’Angelo, Tracy Daub, Bob Henderson, and Shirley Herman.
