Director, Children’s & Youth Choir
Alanna Carlins joined the North Church staff as the children’s choir director in September 2017. She and her husband Chris and four children are no strangers to North. Her children sing in the choir, Alanna has helped with the choir for the past few years, and Alanna’s parents, Jim and Mary Atwood, are familiar faces in the Adult Choir. Alanna earned a B.S. degree in childhood and early childhood education from Buffalo State College and a Master’s degree in special education from Daemen College. She has spent most of her life as a vocal performer participating as a soloist, in small groups, and in choirs. Her favorite singing experiences include touring Europe with a select choir, being a member of a select jazz choir in college, and singing at North Presbyterian Church.
