For nearly 40 years, North Church has prepared meals for Friends of Night People (FONP) on Hudson Street in Buffalo. This ministry began in 1989, when Ruth McDade, Ed Eisenlord, and a dedicated kitchen team started providing food for the FONP Meaningful Meals program.
Once a month, North Church members and friends gather in our kitchen to prepare a meal of baked chicken and roasted potatoes and vegetables. The meal is then delivered to the Hudson Street site to be served to Friends of Night People clients.
Ed Eisenlord coordinated the meals until his retirement in 2019. Today, Jeff Ebsary leads the kitchen crew and meal preparation, with plans to continue this ministry for years to come.
North Presbyterian Church was honored to receive the Friends of Night People 2025 Silver Spoon Award. This recognition reflects the steady dedication of our volunteers and the leadership of Jeff Ebsary. Our monthly meal is a favorite at this community program. Congratulations to the FONP team!
