On Sunday, June 10, we recognized veterans in our North Church family. For the past five years we have been collecting monetary donations for the veterans at Willow Lodge–a 20-bed Community Living Center that focuses on hospice/palliative care and rehabilitation (VA Medical Center, Buffalo). Thank you for your generous gifts totaling just over $1,900!
Our gifts help make the veterans’ lives there a little better through impromptu pizza parties or coffee and donuts. These treats may not seem like much, but when you’re confined, they make all the difference!
We received a thank you letter from the VA for our donation of $2,000. The letter is excerpted here: “Our sincere appreciation goes out to North Presbyterian Church for…your thoughtful donation [which has] enhanced the morale and well-being of our veterans. We are grateful for the unselfish support shown by you to our hospitalized veterans.”
Go to https://northchurchwilliamsville.org/donations/ to give safely and securely online, or send a check made out to North Presbyterian Church and write “Veterans Project” on the memo line; send to 300 N. Forest Rd., Williamsville, NY 14221.
