We have recently witnessed the damage and the heartbreak of two major hurricanes. Recovery and rebuilding will take years but there are urgent needs to be addressed now. These are the times we all show what we are made of, and most of us are looking for a way to help. Monetary donations are the best and fastest way to get aid where it is needed.

North Church recently had a special collection to help hurricane victims. One America Appeal, recently formed by the five living former presidents, is the recipient of the offering. One America Appeal is a tax-exempt organization that ensures that 100 cents out of every dollar donated goes to hurricane victims.

The special collection was taken on September 24. Do feel free, however, to drop your check into the collection plate any week and we will see that it gets to the One America Appeal. Make the check out to NPC with a note of “hurricane relief.” The Mission Committee will add $500 from the Emerging Needs fund.

AND KEEP PRAYING! The effects of this disaster are not going away anytime soon. We have all witnessed incredible acts of selflessness in the rescue of thousands. Recovery will require continued self-sacrifice.
