Dining Out for Life – Tuesday, October 7 – Eat breakfast, lunch or dinner at one of your favorite restaurants and have up to 100 percent of the cost donated to AIDS Community Services. Check out a list of participating restaurants.
Democratization of Turkey – Thursday, October 9, from 5-9pm – Daemen College and the Peace Island Institute are sponsoring a presentation by Mahir Zeynalov, a journalist who started his career with the Los Angeles Times and is now a correspondent for Today’s Zaman. He will speak on the current status of the democratization of Turkey: current political developments, impacts on the social life and groups, and freedom of the press.
