Dining Out for Life – Tuesday, October 7 – Eat breakfast, lunch or dinner at one of your favorite restaurants and have up to 100 percent of the cost donated to AIDS Community Services. Check out a list of participating restaurants.

Democratization of Turkey – Thursday, October 9, from 5-9pmDaemen College and the Peace Island Institute are sponsoring a presentation by Mahir Zeynalov, a journalist who started his career with the Los Angeles Times and is now a correspondent for Today’s Zaman. He will speak on the current status of the democratization of Turkey: current political developments, impacts on the social life and groups, and freedom of the press. In Daemen’s Rosary Hall, 4380 Main St., Amherst. Light refreshments will be served. Please rsvp here.

One Light, Many Candles – Saturday, October 11, at 7pm  a multifaith program in word and song featuring Rev. Elizabeth and Noel “Paul” Stokey. (He was Paul in Peter, Paul, and Mary.) At University Presbyterian Church.
