This Sunday, August 17, in the chapel, following the 9:30am worship service, Bill Gray and Mary Beth Karr, the two ruling elder commissioners from the Presbytery of Western New York, will report on the work of the 221st General Assembly. The decisions were wide-ranging, including the Belhar Confession, gun violence, same-sex marriage, divestment from three U.S. companies, the denomination’s regional structure and much more.
In preparation for the discussion, you may want to read The Assembly in Brief prepared by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), explore the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) website, and/or review the Presbyterian Outlook coverage. (We also have a limited number of printed color copies of The Assembly in Brief on the small table in the south entrance—thanks to Lew Bigler!)
