Last spring, NPC received a two-year zoning variance for the Family Justice satellite with the understanding that we (NPC) would request that the property be permanently rezoned from residential to community use. In November 2013 the Amherst Town Planning Board unanimously approved our request. However, there is one more hurdle to cross: approval by the town board.
That hearing will be held Tuesday, January 21, at 7pm in the Council Chambers of Town Hall on Main Street. Please plan to attend to show the council that the entire congregation supports this project and the rezoning. You do not need to be a resident of Williamsville to attend the meeting. If you have any questions, please talk to Ann Eisenlord, Jim McConnell, JoAnne Alderfer or Sue D’Angelo.
According to Mary Travers Murphy, executive director of the Family Justice Center, there is still no definite date for opening, but it will be soon. She will let us know as soon as the date is set.
