Ah, summer! Isn’t this the ideal time for a whimsical film with loads of deep themes for the whole family? Join a group of fellow North Churchers for a viewing of “Toy Story Three” on Sunday, August 14 at 6:30pm.
The third instalment of this magical children’s animated series is designed to engage and delight adults, too! To the themes of imagination, friendship, loyalty, and adventure found in the first two films are added that of the necessity of growing older with a resulting anxiety about the future. Thus the conclusion of the trilogy is a far more complex film than either I or II, and the filmmakers raise far deeper issues than the two earlier films.
Given the subject matter, the discussion and reflection following the film should be quite interesting! Who said a G rated animated film would turn off audiences?
