Loving God, when disaster strikes we feel at a loss what to do for so many who are hurt so far away. We pray your healing presence be with the people of Moore, Oklahoma, as they recover from the devastation of the recent storm. Stand with them, O God, as they mourn the loss of loved ones, the loss of homes and schools and hospital. Let your Spirit bind them to one another, reminding them that community begins with relationships of love and compassion and the loss of buildings and infrastructure cannot destroy it. Hold them close to your heart, O God, and lead them through this valley of sorrow. And help us find ways to reach out and support them in their time of need through our resources and our prayers. This we pray in the name of Christ who calms the storm and brings healing for our spirits. Amen.
